Her Birth Story.

It has taken me a while to post this, but I figured I'd better write Kinsley's birth story before I forget it. I never wrote Kayla or Kyleigh's although I do remember them. Maybe I'll write theirs on another day...
Kinsley Grace.

6 pounds, 20 ounces
20 inches long

Before I get started I should let you know a few things. I experienced contractions from 29 weeks on. I went to the er twice and labor and delivery once before Kinsley even came. I saw my doctor atleast once (but most of the time twice) a week from 30 weeks on. I'd been in labor twice and each time I had contractions I was sure this was it. I eventually became the woman who called labor (instead of the boy who called wolf.) At 36 weeks and 4 days I was sure my water broke. But it hadn't. I went to labor and delivery only to be sent home. I cried. Actually, I sobbed. And sobbed and sobbed so much that my doctor decided to induce me on Thursday when I was 37 weeks. I was dilated and having contractions, but my contractions just weren't causing me to move along. So, I was told to come to his office at 8:15 am Thursday morning.

Fast forward. Thursday morning arrives. My dad comes to our house to watch Kayla and Kyleigh and off we go. I was seen by my doctor at 8:15 am, in labor and delivery at 8:25 am and my water was broken at 8:35 am. Then we waited. And waited. And finally at 11 am I got my epidural. Things didn't progress. I stayed at 4 cm until 2 pm. Between 11 and 2 I slept. I watched some tv and I got oxygen. At 2 pm the nurse came in and laid me with my head down so I would dilate more. I went from 4 cm to 8 cm in a hour!

At 2:55 pm, I texted everyone letting them know it would probably be soon. As I am texting, the nurse comes in, says the baby's heart rate is dropping and calls my doctor. I hear "cord is around the neck" and secretly get terrified and imagine all these horrible things. My doctor runs in and even though I'm only 8 cm I'm told we are having a baby now. So, I push 3 times and at 3:10 pm Kinsley Grace arrives.

And that's her birth story. Minus the cord around her neck (which she was perfectly fine) there was nothing too crazy about it. She arrived 6 1/2 hours after my water broke.

We got to keep her for a hour until they took her to the nursery. She was put under a warmer and I didn't get to see her again until 8 pm. But we were never separated again at the hospital. I didn't have many visitors because everyone was watching Kayla and Kyleigh. So, Kinsley and I got plenty of bonding time.

We went home Saturday morning. And have been enjoying her ever since.
